Too bad your friends feel akward now. It may be best to try some things at a swinger club first. That way if things don't work out with another couple (not friends) you won't loose a good friendship. (Good friends are too hard to find). Maybe just speak frankly with your female friend. That you are flattered by her offer, just not ready to move upon it ,right now...
It is natural to be attracted to a couple you are friends with. Common interests, attractive couple etc. I am attracted to a couple we have been friends with for 15 years. actually, the friend was asking for one of us to be with her and her husband...my wife did ask "boy or girl" friend replied that she was n't fussed, as it was to keep her hubby satsfied....that's why, I think, in hindsight, it didn't feel that erotic as she was asking us as fiends..(for help !) as .people she felt comfortable with I suppose.

my wife still jokes that she wants to jump him...but that's just fantasy talk now...as it turns out..

i think as a beginning, every hubby can make sex with his own wife in a room while watching other couple. try to offer this. it is innocent and can be acceptable in this stage.
