Teen pregnancies are down but STD's are on the rise among teens.
That should tell you two things.
1) They're finding other ways to "have sex" than "boy puts penis in vagina".
2) We are still doing a horrible job teaching that condoms should always be used regardless of which orifice the dick goes into. STD's don't care. They're just as happy entering your body anally and orally as they are vaginally.

My fiancee's former boyfriend is a physician. He told us that STD's are on the rise across the age spectrum, even among senior citizens. He told us that the only assured way to know whether a new partner is STD free is a blood test.

I've had condoms break. They aren't an assured STD prevention.
